Squirrels in the Attic -- Removal suggestions?

We apparently have squirrels running around in the attic. How they got in is beyond me. I would like to have them removed and the point of entry sealed.

Would i call animal/pest control for that complete task or is their some other expert for such things? What is the typical cost (i live in canada). Or should i handle it myself?

I had this problem a few years back, here is what you do, you take a big round laundry tub put it in a good place (we knew where they were coming in from every night so we did ours outside, but you can actually put yours in your attic) and fill it two-thirds full of water, then take some bird food or sunflower seeds or something that squirrels like that floats and put in into the water until it looks like a layer of the food, the squirrels wont notice the water but will go after the food, then when they get in they will drown. When I did this we found 3 squirrels, a chimpmunk, and a small mouse I think, but then the noise went away,

here is a website, its not as good as the one I found a few years ago, but it has a pic of the bucket, (this works much much much better if you cover up the water with some kind of seed, spreading peanut butter around the rim of the bucket works great too.

If you have a ';Do-It-Yourself'; pest control around, they sell '';RED FOX URINE';. They will also sell small containers filled with cotton. You can saturate the cotton with the urine and throw the containers out into your attic. The squirrels will leave. I have 12 rent houses and it is the only thing I use to rid the attics of squirrels. Works great. Farm Supply Stores may also carry it.
Are you sure it's not mice? They can make a racket. Put some flour on a board and then check the tracks. You may be surprised. Snap traps baited with peanut butter work well. I suggest wiring the trap to a piece of wood . Otherwise, a mouse may get a foot caught and drag the trap away. Poisons aren't recommended because you could end up with dead mice decomposing where you can't find them.
Do it yourself. Get a 22 and shoot them. They are probably getting in at the roof. You might have trees close to the roof and they have gotten in the attic vent or something.
I doubt that they are squirrels! I'm afraid you probably have rats. You'll need pest control as they are a health hazard.
you should catch them and then sell them on the street like they do in 'Rat Race' .... Please don't hurt them !!! I love squirrels !!!
