Are urban squirrels undergoing hyper-evolution?

because cars have only been really used a lot for maybe last 50 or so years and squirrels get run over a lot so wouldn't that increase the speed of the fittest squirrels surviving? (increased neurological fear structures from genetic variation?)Are urban squirrels undergoing hyper-evolution?
Yes, this is the sort of adaptive pressure that drives evolution. Any squirrels that are more responsive will have a better chance of survival and have more offspring, who will also have these traits. Other traits include having less fear of humans. Any squirrels who were able to approach and live closer to human habitation would obviously have more food to eat, and be more successful.

This is how it is thought grey wolves originally became domesticated, evolving into our pet dogs - some wild wolves happen to have a less aggressive nature, and approached human settlements, eventually they lived with humans and became dependent on them.

.Are urban squirrels undergoing hyper-evolution?
Probably, but since they are 'urban squirrels,' they probably don't have to try very hard to find their own food, meaning that they don't use a lot of brainpower. I must say, though, that the title of this question is pretty bamf xD
Probably not. Humans die in car wrecks, but that does not lead to humans developing armor on their bodies.
