Do squirrels ever eat smaller animal such as mice?

Yes, sometimes they eat mice and birds.Do squirrels ever eat smaller animal such as mice?
they ususally do not inless they are really hungray.Do squirrels ever eat smaller animal such as mice?
I wouldn't be surprised. They look cute but they are nasty little buggers.
They don't hunt them, but all rodents are not opposed to eating flesh if the need arises from lack of other food sources. A mother squirrel will eat her own young in times of food scarcity. Most likely to eat another animal (carcass only, they're not hunters) is mother squirrels who have higher protine needs.
No. Squirrels are vegetarians.
Yes they will eat smaller animals - particularly small rodents. I've seen ground squirrel species eating mice in the past - it just depends what's available to them at the time - sometimes they just see it as an easy meal and take what they can.
squirrels are not necessary vegetarians..... They will raid a birds nest for the eggs... and even tiny birds... they have been known to eat dead mice... ( if they cant find anything else)... I dont think a squirrel could catch a mouse. lol

they eat insects. and all that other good stuff..

why u ask?
no - squirrels are not meat eaters
This place says they eat carcass if nothing else is available.
there not meat eaters.here is something you can do if you enjoy seeing them screw the cap of a peanut butter jar to a tree and cut the bottom off they love it

    1. If they eat eggs, and they eat insects, and they eat mice, they are NOT vegetarians. They are opportunists. They will eat nuts, but also meat, making them omnivores like bears.
