I have a Beeman 22. air rifle, i want to hunt squirrels, what kind of pellets should i use?

The first question is, how good a shot are you?

And, what velocity does your gun shoot?

For small game, you want a pellet that will do damage, but expend it's energy inside the prey.

Pointed pellets or hollowpoints are the way to go, as they're intended for hunting.

Most manufacturers offer pointed pellets, but the hollowpoints are a lot harder to find.

Umarex carries some really funky pellets. I included a link to their pellets below.

Pellets are fairly cheap too.

Buy a box of whatever you like, see how they shoot through your gun, and go with what works best for you.I have a Beeman 22. air rifle, i want to hunt squirrels, what kind of pellets should i use?
The ones your gun shoots most accurately. Pretty much any hunting weight airgun will be able to deliver the necessary 3 ft-lbs of impact energy out to at least 30 yards.(1) However the kill zone for a head shot on a squirrel is around 1-inch. (So is the heart-lung cavity, but a head shot is preferred since its much more likely to kill cleanly.) Therefore the limiting factor is going to be accuracy not power at hunting ranges. In order make the most use of the power your gun has and increase the odds of a clean kill, you should use the pellet your gun shoots most accurately.

In order to find the pellet your gun shoots most accurately, you need to test as many different pellets as possible. The most economical method of doing this is to buy pellet sampler packs from online retailers for your testsI have a Beeman 22. air rifle, i want to hunt squirrels, what kind of pellets should i use?
Heavy weight types. Crossman are good, I have found them very accurate. Sight your gun in very carefuly from a rest at the distance you expect to use it. You must be able to hit a squirrel's head at that distance. Try different pellets in your gun, some will shoot better than others. Airguns are funny like that.
the heavier the better. Whatever you do, bont use PBA Raptors, they are to light and will not break bone. Kodiak Pellets are good, 10.6 grains, Crow Magnum or just plain 7.9 grain would do just fine. Just don't go below that.
None

You should get a rifle more suited to the job. Either a .22LR or a .410 shotgun.

Airguns are just not up to the job of humanly killing vermin

OK, Maybe mice if you stay inside the barn.

You know, the desire to kill small, helpless animals can be an indication of some serious psychological problems. Maybe you should see a doctor about that.
