Is peanut butter safe for wild squirrels?

In moderation...real peanuts in shell are better since they can store them for later, or any other nut in shell that people can eat (chestnut, walnut etc) Most grocery store brands of peanut butter have a lot of other things in them besides peanuts. Is peanut butter safe for wild squirrels?
Yes, when I worked at a wildlife preserve they had activities for kids and they would make pine cones coated with peanut butter then rolled in bird seed, we never had any problems with the squirrels getting sick or dying. Is peanut butter safe for wild squirrels?
Yes, unless you use it to coat the trigger of a snap trap. Squirrels love it.
