It would work but at $320, it's pretty pricey for just a pellet gun.

You can get an okay .22 rifle for under $100, a good one for under $200, or a great one for that price. Is this a good air rifle for hunting squirrels, rabbits %26amp; other small game?
Gamo Hunter Elite

If you have to have a Gamo (?) I would get the CFX

If you want a much better all around rifle, get the RWS 34

RWS rifles come with a lifetime warranty, Gamo rifles usually have a 1 year, that alone should tell you something about the quality.
Probally a gamo hunter rifle stick with a .177 a 22 is a bit overkill

A good rifle would be in the 300's

Mine is just overkill i have a german made airrifle that shoots almost 1000fps And it takes no air but it costs and arm and a leg.

Almost new but used cost me 500 dollars
Get a .22 cal. You can find lots of air rifle in that. But any scope that comes with the gun is going to be cheap. You may want to consider getting a better one.
Dude any daisy Powerline .177 will do the trick. Dont get a crossman (they break easily) and a .22 (ammo is more expensive)
I recomend a .22 cal. either pistol or rifle
