Is hunting squirrels with a pellet gun legal.?

is hunting squirrels with a pellet gun legal. in or out of city limits. Is hunting squirrels with a pellet gun legal.?
legal, yes...in city limits, no. people will call the cops on you so don't try it in your back yard. besides, its not nice leaving a wounded or dead squirrel in your 80yr old neighbor's back yard. as with all weapons shot placement is far more important than round size. Buy good ammo, practice a lot so you can nail the bullseye constantly and buy a hunting liscense. Also make sure you're hunting in season.

as a side note, silencers are illegal, even for pellet guns unless they cannot be removed with a hacksaw, plasma torch..etc etc... any silencer made for a pellet gun could be removed and put on a powder rifle, which is highly illegal unless you have a license and thats how they get you.Is hunting squirrels with a pellet gun legal.?
I wouldn't think you would get in trouble using a pellet gun around your house. Who is going to know you are out there using it? I wouldn't be worried about it. Go ahead kill em all.
in Oregon it is but never in city limits and a hunting license is required. In my hunt unit there is no closed season or bag limit. Mind you that it takes a high powered pellet rifle to hunt them ethically. Mine shoots 1000 feet per second and the only advantage to my pellet rifle over my 22 is noise.
In the city, you will get into serious trouble, if caught. In the woods, who would know what you used?
In city limits negative ghostrider. But as for out in the woods Ohio and Virginia says O.K.
Check with your states DNR. I feel certain that hunting of any nature with any gun in city limits is illegal.
No.Ya know how you can do it?get a hunting grade slingshot and some steel ammo.Strong enough to kill most varmints if you get em in the head or vital organ. And they are silent too.If you really must use the pellet gun, make a silencer. The army improvised munitions guide will say how.Honestly who cares they are squirrels and they are overpopulated everywhere.
in my back yard its legal.. just dont tell anyone
hunting in city limits is illegal anyway u look at it and as for hunting with it outside of city limits, u would have to contact ur local DNR
Not legal in city limits. It is legal out of city limits provided that you have a small game license.
in the city...oh sure its legal, but if your caught in the city...you will go to jail....as for anywhere else, unless you live in a bleeding heart liberal town, no its not legal..ok enough of that crap.....if you want to hunt them critters, i would suggest something a little bigger like a shotgun, it has about a 50 to 70 yard range, and i would not go above a 6 shot or thats what i use, but it is the hunters preference ....but as for a pellet gun? i really would not suggest it, for it you do not kill the animal, then you have wounded it, and that is not good sportsmanship
