From the looks of it to my yard to steal food from my birdfeeders.Where do squirrels go in the winter?
they go to the treesWhere do squirrels go in the winter?
They're still there. Squirrels don't hibernate. You may be confusing them for cats. The squirrels around my house eat so much food leading up to winter, that the look like small, fat cats. Loud thumps when they jump from a tree onto my roof.
Squirrels do not hibernate and remain active throughout the winter, there is usually a ready supply of food for them during the winter months. Their activity is not much affected by cold weather, but on very wet days they will stay inside their dreys to keep dry.
they fly south for the winter!!!
Underground to comfort their nuts
They go to the same nests that they are in during the summer. They arent out as much in the winter and in February they start having their young. They build their nest out of leaves and twigs in the forks of the branches of the trees, in holes in trees and in hollow trees. Yep they are very good at raiding the birdfeeders in the winter.
