In the wild, the squirrels mate, and then they leave. The female will chase the male squirrel away when she is ready to have babies, because she doesn't want the male to kill her babies. Squirrels will eat eggs and baby birds, and the mom squirrel doesn't want the same thing to happen to her kids.Do male flying squirrels leave their mates when young are concieved?
