I wouldn't catch one because its mean just intrigued. Can you have squirrels as pets? u.k answers only?
Grey squirrels are not considered to be indigenous to the UK and so if you ever caught one (for instance an injured one) then it is actually illegal to release it back into the wild again. You would have to either keep it, rehome it at a zoo etc or have it put down. I know, it sounds crazy to me too but it really is the law in this country! Can you have squirrels as pets? u.k answers only?
Do you wanna know what i think and thats if you have the right licence you can have what you want ...look at zoos for example they have licences to own those animals and they have squirrels and wildlife sancturys keep squirrels and if they are too injured to ever be released into the wild then someone must look after them.
The closest to a squirrel you could buy at a pet shop would prob be the chipmunk apparently its called a groundsquirrel in usa but i dunno and they always complain if they know someone in the uk is keeping one as a pet BUT the british ones are siberian chipmunks not american and are not just captured from the wild they are bred in captivity.
I don't know exactly how but i bet you could keep a squirrel as a pet ... people keep monkeys in the uk as pets lol so why not squirrels x
You can research the United Kingdom's rules. Another idea is to make your yard very welcoming to them (you can research what attracts squirrels) and get squirrel feeders so you can be close to them even if there not pets.
i dont think so, but u can kinda like encourage them to nest in the garden and feed em... i had 2 called salt and pepper that allways came for food and didnt run away when i came near them try that
No, but the two squirrels in my garden are practically pets as they are here to often! They annoy me though as they are constantly banging against the windows when i am studying waiting for nuts :P
no you can't, its illegal. if you lived in america, the story is different i think.
You could hold one captive perhaps, but it would never be a pet.
Surely not
no
