Although you might want to find someone who knows exactly how to take care of them, if you want to take care of them yourself, do this-





Make sure they stay very warm-90-95 degrees farenheit. Find a crate or something to keep them in also. What you might want to do to keep them warm is put a heating pad under their nest-which should be made of SEVERAL old towels, rags, shirts, or anything else that is soft, absorbent, and retains heat well.





For feeding-DO NOT USE cow's milk or human baby formula-as it is almost poinsonous to them and they can't digest it. Use Esbilac, Nurturall, or Just Born puppy formula for them, because they can digest it. Never feed a baby until it is totally warmed, or it will die. After baby is fully warmed (it will feel hot to your touch), feed Pedialyte or warm Gatorade (or equivalent), every 陆 hour for 5 feedings. Then feed formula diluted with Pedialyte or Gatorade (mix 1 to 1) every 1 hour for 4 feedings. Then feed formula full strength every 2 hours, and Pedialyte 3 times per day between regular feedings. For first 6 weeks of life, feed formula with 1 cc syringe (no needle!) or eye dropper every 2 hours during the day and 4 hours during the night. Feed approx. 戮 eye dropper full (0.6 to 1.0 cc) each time, and gradually increase amount as squirrel grows.





I know, it sounds pretty complicated. If you can't do all this, DO find a professional who can.





And finally, release them when they are ready. You can't keep a squirrel forever. Release them in some sort of wooded area where they can be safe.

My neighbor has a pet squirrel and it is about 9 years old. Cute thing. You might want to check on google or a pet store and see what kind of things they eat when they are young. Again, as people stated it is illegal, but what people don't know can't hurt them. If you want to release it to a non profit agency then go all for it, but once it is used to humans it won't last very long in the wild. The neighbors feed it nuts, cheese, and has a lil water bottle attached to its cage. I would do some research on google or yahoo and find out what would be the best thing to feed a baby squirrel. Ummm have you touched them ??? If you haven't leavethem where they are - mother will regect them if you touch them so if u have you can't put them back.





Mother was probably scared off or out gathering food when you came along - I'd call the zoo or fish %26amp; wildlife services or a vet even for advice
Since squirrels are technically wild animals I would NOT care for them yourself for legal and health related reasons.


Contact your local aspca or animal shelter and tell them you need a wildlife care facility.


THey should put you in contact with a facility that will have everything necessary to make sure these squirrels will recieve proper care and then release back into the wild.


(squirrels are destructive and hard to care for as they age...do not try to make them pets..and if you don't care for them properly can pose a public menace or die when you try to return them to the wild.)
call your local police dept and find out if you have animal control in your neighborhood. They will take them off your hands and take them where they need to be.
i also once found a baby squirrel, in my state Ohio it is aganist the law to keep/own a squirrel. i called the vet they couldn't help but they did give me a number of a non profit org who takes in wildlife who is young or hurt. they help it then release it safely back to the wild. its a free service all you do is have to drop off the animal.





when i called them they said not to feed it anything but bring it in. if its moving around a small dog kennel is good if its not but being still wrap in a blanket or towel as they like to nest, at least thats what they told me.
