Are chipmunks/squirrels legal in the USA?

Can I get some information about chipmunks and squirrels. And wich one is better to take care of? If they are not legal then what is close to them as a pet in the USA that is legal/. And can I have inbformation about. If you are gona say sugar gliders than can they BITE?!!! ThanksAre chipmunks/squirrels legal in the USA?
it depends what state you live in but some states allow them all animals bite and i think you should get a sugar glider and here is some information about them

All animals can bite. In fact, squirrels have the hardest bite force of all rodent for its size. They aren't illegal. Do lots of research before you buy. They can be a lot of work and are only good pets for some people.
